Sevenhill Cellars is the oldest winery in the region. Jesuits built it in 1851 and started making sacramental wine. Now it also produces premium white, red and fortified wines. Skillogalee is a boutique winery. A father and son team handcraft their wines. Gardens surround the restaurant and cellar door. Sit on the veranda when the weather is good or by log fires when it’s not, why not stay the night.
Taylor's is an inspired combination of 'old world' estate philosophy and 'new world' winemaking innovation has resulted in the crafting of a range of wines that regularly receive international awards and accolades. The cellar door is open daily.
Jim Barry Wines is another world-class producer. Its wines are available in more than 25 countries around the world. Jim Barry Wines produces its own fruit in 10 locations around the Clare Valley. Jim Barry, a pioneer of the industry, started the winery in 1959.
Paulett Wines is in Polish Hill River Valley. Winemaker Neil Paulett started his career at Penfolds Wines and has over 30 years’ experience. He makes wines of finesse, elegance and intensity. Try his outstanding Riesling. The views from the cellar door are breathtaking.
Knappstein is a small producer of premium wines. Their Riesling is among Australia's best. They also make Knappstein Reserve Lager, a premium Bavarian style lager. The cellar door is in a nineteenth century brewery.
Reilly's Wines is located in an original stone and slate building, built by Hugh Reilly in 1856. This beautiful building is now utilized for a cellar door and restaurant, offering visitors fresh locally produced food matched with dry grown wines, open for lunch seven days a week.
