From zero-alcohol wine flights, children’s activities and build-your-own palters of local produce, Sidewood’s cellar door has a broad range of offerings to make everyone feel welcome. Widely known for their sabrage experience, guests including Karl Stefanovic, have come to learn the art of opening a bottle of sparkling wine with a traditional sword or sabre.

Their restaurant, helmed by Executive Chef Jamie Carter uses carefully sourced sustainable ingredients with a focus on local Adelaide Hills and South Australian suppliers, with each dish designed to pair with one of Sidewood’s wines. This focus on linking food and wine is what has earned the award for Best Wine Tourism Restaurant 2023 from Great Wine Capitals of the world.

With walls adorned in fine pieces of Australian Art, the stunning restaurant interior flows outside onto a spacious hardwood deck which offers many different types of casual dining experiences. The outdoor deck area overlooks their quaint courtyard with pétanque and lawn bowls courts, a kid’s nature playground and 6 VIP day beds (available for hire).
