"Behind the Farm Gate" Private Tour - Bungaree Station
Clare Valley
This special private tour takes you behind the gates and into the paddocks to learn more about farming at this iconic property.
Established in 1841, Bungaree became the headquarters of one of Australia’s most successful sheep flocks, at a time when the country was said to ride “on the sheep’s back”. Today, over 180 years later, the property is a mixed farming enterprise, with sheep, cropping, cattle, deer and revegetation programs, under the careful stewardship of the 4th, 5th and 6th generations of the Hawker family.
Their "Behind the Farm Gate" tour is a 1.5 hour guided tour that enables visitors to learn more about the farming operations, taking visitors around the 7000-acre property that is not normally accessible to visitors. Children are welcome and will enjoy meeting some of the animals.
As this is a working farm, this private tour is available by prior booking only.
