The McLaren Vale wine region, home to around 65 wineries, is south of Adelaide. It's the heart of the Fleurieu Peninsula's wine-growing area, between the Gulf St. Vincent inlet and Mount Lofty Ranges. Olive and almond groves are scattered among its vineyards.
