WHAT TO KNOW ABOUT THE MATCH
The British and Irish Lions will play in South Australia for the first time in 137 years in Adelaide on Saturday July 12, 2025 in what is slowly shapping up to be the unoffical 'fourth Test' match. Bringing Australian and New Zealand players together on the same team for the first time since 1989 - this historic match is one not to be missed.
Adelaide / Tarntanya (pronounced Tarn-tan-ya) is the traditional land of The Kaurna (Gar-na) people and the cosmopolitan coastal capital of South Australia. While small it size, it sure packs a punch with plenty of things to see and do before or after the game. Getting around Adelaide city is easy, with a range of public transport, driving, cycling or walking options.
HOW TO GET TO ADELAIDE OVAL
Just 400 metres from the CBD, Adelaide Oval's close proximity to the city makes it one of the most easily accessible stadiums in the country. Book yourself a city hotel and walk in, or take advantage of public transport which are all within a few minutes' walk from train, bus and tram networks. Arriving into Adelaide by plane, you'll arrive at Adelaide Airport. Close to the city centre (7km) there are several options for reaching the city from the Airport.
- Adelaide Metro public busses run from the airport to the city approximately every 30 minutes. J1 and J2 buses will get you from the city to the airport and you will need a metroCARD to pay for this airport service. MetroCARD can be purchased at Adelaide Airport or from participating retailers in the city.
- You’ll find taxi ranks and rideshare pick-up areas at the front of each terminal – simply follow the signage. The journey from the airport to the city takes approximately 20 minutes.

With free trams and buses in the city centre getting around Adelaide is quick and easy. Adelaide as a tram service that operates through the city centre to the popular coastal suburb of Glenelg.
